An essential asset to all real nappy households, the 16-litre nappy pail is for storing used nappies prior to washing.

There are several schools of thought about how to store your nappies, but we recommend dry pailing, as using water can encourage bacteria to breed, and therefore increase, not decrease, the potential for odours. Soaking also makes transferring the nappies to the washing machine a far more unpleasant and messy task! To dry pail, flush away any solids, rinsing off any excess poo as necessary. To do so you can sluice them - ie hold them in the flush stream of the toilet - or simply rinse them in the sink. Wet nappies go straight in the bucket as baby wee is sterile and will not need to be rinsed before storing.  As long as you keep the lid on, this will keep odours to a minimum.

However, if you want to try wet pailing - also known as soaking - simply fill with water and submerge the nappies, having removed excess solids as described above, and keep on adding nappies into the bucket until you have a full load.

Wither way, we recommend using a mesh bag in the bucket. These lovely bags sit inside the bucket, and when you transfer your nappies to the washing machine, the whole bag lifts out, meaning you don't have to individually handle lots of dirty nappies!

If you like, you can add something to control the odour: such as pail fresheners, tea tree oil or washing powder.

Excellent size bucket - fits lots of nappies in. However the lid isn't tightly on so you'll need to watch that the little ones don't want to investigate!

Just the job! Holds about 12 of of our pop-in nappies. Good fitting lid to contain smells.

Great, good value, holds about 2 days worth of nappies. The lid seals well so there are no smells

Does the job - I've managed to fit 17 nappies in in one go. Only 4 stars as would be good if there was a way of locking the lid on. But all in all a good value nappy bucket.

Very happy with the bucket. Good price and nice colour.
I also purchased some mesh bags which fit inside nicely.
Smells stay inside the bucket!

Good size bucket, fits a washing load of nappies in. The lid isn't a terribly tight fit. I previously had a Mothercare bucket which had a very good lid but the bucket itself was too small.

an easy to use nappy bin that holds about 12 nappies (maybe more if you dont wet pail). It being round makes it more practical.

Good size - pretty colour looks nice in the nursery. Contains a days load of nappies. I have two buckets that I rotate between washing.

Another product that we have two off, one at home and one at nursery, fits a good wash load of nappies and wipes and keeps smells in.

Could do with clips to stop nosy cruisers trying to get into it!
